Sambal Goring (Indonesian Tempeh)

300g tempeh cut into 8 slices length-ways and 6-8 slices across
2 small onions chopped
1-2 fresh red chilies 3" seeded and sliced (or 1/2 tsp chili or 4-6 small dried chilies)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 420g can coconut milk or coconut cream

Place all in a pan, bring to boil, turn low and simmer covered for 30 minutes.
