Gut Health Talk; with The Kefir Company and Be Nourished

Nutrition Talks and Recipe Demonstration

Three Nutrition classes with information, recipes and demonstrations. Each session is $15 or come to all three for $40. 
Presented by Human Nutrition students from Ara Institute.

Breakfast; the Most Important Meal of the Day?

Tuesday 14th November, 6pm
At Piko Wholefoods, upstairs

The importance of eating breakfast can sometimes be overlooked, however starting the day right has the potential to impact our mood, weight and eating habits.  This event will include handy hints to aid digestion and your future breakfast choices.

Making the Most of Your Vegetarian Diet

Tuesday 21st November, 6pm
At Piko Wholefoods, upstairs

Many nutrients are abundant in vegetarian diets due to the high intake of fresh fruit and vegetables, grains and healthy fats. However, there are some nutrients that can take a little more planning to ensure they are consumed in sufficient amounts to help you thrive. 
This event will provide information on those nutrients, their contributions to maintaining good health, the recommended daily intakes, and examples of good food sources. 

Small Changes to Improve Your Nutrition

Tuesday 28th November, 6pm
At Piko Wholefoods, upstairs

Good nutrition is one of the keys to living a healthy and vital life. 
However, we are constantly bombarded with media information about foods and nutrition which can leave us feeling confused. This Nutrition Talk and Cooking Demonstration will include information and recipes on how to easily increase your micro-nutrient intake, improve your nutrition and how to shop with confidence without breaking your budget. 

These are Nutrition Classes with Cooking Demonstrations that run for roughly 1 hour. Taste testers, take home information and recipes included for you to replicate the items which were demonstrated.
$15 per class / $40 to attend all 3

Kombucha Talk and Question Time

Have you tried making kombucha at home? Need a few pointers or some motivation to start making it yourself? Jo Bind from WabiO will talk about kombucha and answer any questions you have about the brew that you are making at home. He will demonstrate how easy it is to make and how to refine your production to get the result you like best.
A great session to come to and begin brewing for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Sunday November 26th 1pm.

The Sugar Conundrum Clarified

With Piko staff: Bonnie and certified nutritionist Sally.
A talk about different sugars, body metabolism, myths about healthy sugar and natural sweeteners. A must see for anyone who finds all the media coverage on sugar and fruit confusing. There will be lots to learn and new foods to try. Recipes and delicious examples of naturally sweet foods for you.
